The ‘training’ for this role will be given by the organisation and the business advisors will also have the support of the organisation and the school’s link teacher on Monday 13th October in our offices at 6pm in Sliema.

Junior Achievement (Young Enterprise) Malta Foundation, popularly known as Young Enterprise,  has been involved in the field of Entrepreneurship Education for a number of years.  Students are given a unique hands-on experience which allows them to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to start a business or to be successfully employed.

Needless to say such skills are exactly what are sought after by employers and recruitment agencies!

The programmes we offer cannot be possible were it not for the help and support of volunteers acting as business advisors.  These volunteers, representing a spectrum of backgrounds and areas of expertise, become an inspiring role model for the students guiding them through the various stages of the programme, helping them get the best out of their team experience.

Giving back is a core pillar of corporate citizenship. It is becoming well documented that companies who have a CSR / Sustainability strategy and shared policy, enjoy higher growth rates, have more engaged employees on their books whilst bettering their stock value.  We are currently offering limited places on our business advisor programme and welcome your assistance in bringing this to the notice of eligible staff members.   Some information is being given below about the programmes.

About Company Programme

Company Programme is a programme where 6th form students learn how to take a business idea from concept to reality. Students discover first-hand how a company functions by electing a board of directors from amongst their peers, they raise share capital and they market and finance a product /service of their own choice.  At the end of the programme they present a report and accounts to their shareholders.  Through this experience, students are led to new skills such as teamwork, leadership, and planning as they also learn to take responsibility for the success (or otherwise) of their company. It is the perfect preparation for working life!

Here is what past volunteers have to say about our programmes

Andrew Mangion –EC Group

“ While schools help build up a student’s academic prowess, I have never seen anything as powerful or hands on as Young Enterprise to help build up the vital real life skills of entrepreneurship, organizational teamwork, business creativity and sales skills. Would I attach more value to a prospective employee that had Young Enterprise Experience? My answer is simple. Absolutely!”

Anthony Ellul - Quality Assurance Playmobil

“I feel very pleased dedicating some of my time & real business experience to empower students on the doorstep of employment to what is considered good practice to run a business. I did it, and will do it again".

Winston J Zahra - CEO Island Group Holdings plc, Malta

My experience with Young Enterprise as an advisor and a judge brought me into contact with many young individuals who clearly learned a great deal from their participation in the programme. Young Enterprise enables individuals to not only put theory into practice but to also learn valuable lessons about all important aspects of teamwork, financial management and presentation skills at an early age.  These qualities enable Young Enterprise participants to approach the job market in a more confident way when the time comes in a way that is very often noticeable by employers.
